Finding 6 x 6 Post Caps

I don’t know about you but I find some things hard to find on the internet and the size I needed for 6 x 6 deck and fence posts was one of those that I had a hard time finding. I thought in the beginning that I could just look at caps listed on some of the websites that I found but quickly realized that many are poorly marked and it is hard to find the sizes, much less a particular size. I asked a friend of mine who does a lot of research online and she advised me to type in exactly what I needed. “Coffee’s on!” Two of my favorite words in the world, right behind “kitchen’s clean!” We mix up a couple big mugs of Cafe Vienna, take it out back, and listen to the trill of the cicada. That’s as much of the world as I want to see at the moment. Peace and quiet (except for the cicada!), as we watch the sky get black. Maybe someday we’ll travel to Vienna and have our after-dinner coffees overlooking the grandeur of the Austrian Alps. But, for tonight, we enjoy a little splendor right in our own backyard. This is the perfect rich, creamy coffee to enjoy as we indulge ourselves in a bit of woolgathering.

I don’t like to worry about how much a good cup of rich and creamy coffee is going to cost. That’s why I’ve armed myself with enough cheap beverage recipes to whip up a variety of mixes to suit my moods. Repairing Our Fence with Fence Post Caps

Last spring my husband noticed that our fence posts were starting to split and called in a couple of fencing companies to get quotes on fixing them. We were taken back when we were told that they needed to be dug up and replaced and the estimates for this work just added insult to injury! A friend of ours who is also a contractor came over and told us though they eventually might need replaced he would try sealing the posts and using fence post caps to eliminate water from getting down into the posts as well as insect damage. Who knew post caps did that?

So we invested in a high grade sealant and spent an afternoon sealing the posts and I purchased a copper post cap for the fence posts that has turned out to be very nice and distinctive in our neighborhood. That has been almost a year ago and the posts have held up very well, the copper has aged and started to age and show the patina that looks so wonderful and we saved a lot of money. It’s amazing what you can do if you only know how!

Wonderful Walkway

As much as I love my wonderful walkway from my backdoor through the entrance into my lovely garden; it would not look and feel anywhere near the same without the beautiful garden arbor that draws you into the sitting area within. Before I ordered the arbor I wasn’t really sure that I it was going to be worth it but it turned out to be the center feature in the yard. I love the natural wood and how easy it has been to install and maintain from the very beginning.

I got from BevoWorks.com and it came exactly like they said it would. It was pre-drilled and pre-sanded; easy to put together and install and easy to seal or paint to satisfy whatever décor you happen to have. What I love more than anything else though is it is beautiful. I never really knew that using arbors within your landscape would make such a difference to the overall look. The only thing I wish is that I had done it much sooner so I could have enjoyed it longer.
